Breast Cancer Now

Breast Cancer Now

We are formed by the merger of Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now. We are funding vital research, providing caring support and information, and campaign on the issues that will make the biggest impact. Our aim is that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives and lives well.

Facts about our job

  • In the UK around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. This equates to one woman every 10 minutes and one man every day. If nothing changes, this will rise to one woman every eight minutes by 2030.
  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer. Nearly one in three new cancers diagnosed in women in the UK are breast cancer.
  • An estimated 600,000 people are alive in the UK after a diagnosis of breast cancer. This is predicted to rise to 1.2 million by 2030.

Right now, breast cancer is at a tipping point. More women are surviving. But more are being diagnosed than ever before. One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. And every 45 minutes, another woman dies from the disease.

We are going to change that. We are Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity.

We are dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease, campaign to make sure that everyone affected by breast cancer receives the best possible treatment, and we provide care and support to everyone affected by the disease.

Steered by Research

We work with almost 340 of the brightest minds in breast cancer research. We are discovering how we can prevent breast cancer, diagnose it sooner, find more effective and kinder treatments and stop it taking lives. Our world-class research gives us the power to drive progress forward.

To date, we have invested £230 million in breast cancer research. Right now, we are funding around 80 cutting-edge projects worth just over £26 million.

Powered by Care

We want everyone diagnosed with breast cancer to get the support they need. Our breast care nurses, staff and volunteers are dedicated to helping with the physical and emotional impact of the disease.

Across the UK, our free specialist support services offer tailored information and support and are being used more than ever. We are here for anyone affected by breast cancer, whether they have just been diagnosed or have finished treatment.

Your donation will help to make sure the world-class research taking place in our labs, and the life-changing care and support we provide to those who so desperately need it, continues.

If we act now, we can create a future where everyone, who develops breast cancer, lives – and is supported to live well. Every pound will help us to get there.

Monthly Donations

  • £5 per month or £60 annually

  • £7.50 per month or £90 annually

£7.50 per month could buy essential laboratory equipment for our researchers. This could be tubes for freezing cells for future experiments, or bags of test tubes and flasks for growing cancer cells, that our scientists will experiment on.

  • £10 per month or £120 annually

£10 per month could provide leaflets to doctors’ surgeries in the UK to promote breast-checking, and inform about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

  • £20 per month or £240 annually

£20 per month could buy enough of our specialist nurses’ time to give eight people with breast cancer the support they need through our Helpline, or help deliver twelve hours of our cutting-edge breast cancer research.
