Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

We are the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease. We fund life-saving research. We support everyone affected by lung cancer. We raise awareness and challenge the misconceptions of lung cancer. We do all this so those diagnosed can live well and expect better.

Facts about our job

  • Lung cancer is the biggest cancer killer
  • We’ve funded over 30 million in lung cancer research, focusing on early detection and patient experience.
  • We fund 54 support groups as well as information days, a free helpline as well as vital information so patients receive the support they need.

When it comes to lung cancer, there is a belief that it can only affect certain people. The reality is, though lung cancer is a disease which can affect anyone, and this dangerous misconception is resulting in late diagnosis and costing people their lives.

People like Harriet.

Pregnancy should be one of the most exciting times of a person’s life, as you eagerly wait to meet a beautiful baby boy or girl. For Harriet, with the exception of some pretty bad morning sickness, her second pregnancy was all going fine until, at 31-weeks, she received the heart-breaking news that she had incurable lung cancer.

Thankfully, her baby was born safely at 34 weeks, but now lives with the fear that she’ll never have the chance to explain to her sons that she didn’t want to leave them.

Lung cancer can affect. It can affect people like you. It can affect people like me.

With your help we can fund more research and provide more support so we can help everyone live well and live longer with lung cancer.
