Facts about our job

  • Scope is the UK’s leading disability charity in England and Wales. We will support any disabled person and their family whatever their age, impairment or condition.
  • Last year our helpline reached over 24,000 people who had nowhere else to turn. The most common enquiries were around financial worries, condition and impairment related questions and benefits queries.
  • We work with parents of disabled children to build strong support networks across communities. Our parent support services are there whenever they need them. From the point of diagnosis to the changes that come as their child gets older.

We’re a strong community of disabled and non-disabled people with a shared vision of equality.

We provide practical advice and emotional support whenever people need them most. We do this through our Scope helpline, our online community, a range of employment and child sleep services, community engagement programmes, and more. All of our services are developed to achieve our strategy, Everyday Equality. Our strategy outlines how we support disabled people to Get the Best Start in Life, Live the Life They Choose and Be Financially Secure, three key areas disabled people tell us matter the most .

We use our collective power to change attitudes and end injustice. And we campaign relentlessly to create a fairer society.
